Clock Tower in Rynek Glowny (square)
 St. Mary's church on square
Interior views of St. Anne's Church

Frescoed reliefs appeared three dimensional, were in part

Stained glass windows in Franciscan Church

Walnut benches and intricately carved statuary in Dominican Church

Gas balloon ride on side of river

Some Pictures from Prague

Awaiting the three sisters posts I've decided to share some pictures which I'm sure they will have many more and better examples for you. MF

These two are of the Astronomical clock on one side of the Old Town Hall, not sure when added but the building dates from 1338 ( heavily damaged in WW II)
The Charles bridge from a distance (built in 1357)

View of the Prague Castle from the riverside
One side of St. Vitus' Cathedral
 Beautiful mosaic above doors
Main entry side, elaborately decorated doors and entryway
Real gargoyles, spitting out water from the rain earlier in the day
I guess its a lute but looked like a banjo for a minute!
Stained glass windows inside the cathedral were majestic, intricately detailed

Were we disappointed to learn the crown jewels were not the real deal
Infant of Prague at Church of Our Lady Victorius, dates from 1628, apparently a wax figure.  Very popular, apparently a lot of miracles attributed to it.

So we all made it to Prague (Praha) last night and arrived at our residence which turns out to be two large apartments. Here we are (Sue is the photographer) at breakfast delivered to our (D&M) room (multiple rolls, eggs, cereal, cheese, cold cuts...), getting ready to explore the city. So much to see! Rooftops of Praha...

It all starts here....

This photo is of our grandfather Stanley Czechovitz, grandmother Ludmilla Hanuska and great-grandfather Albert Czechowicz taken around 1912 in the U.S. (Minnesota). Our journey is to walk upon our ancestors lands in Poland and Hungary plus others. We will try to keep a record of our trip of discovery, maybe more about us than them.
